Welcome and thanks for visiting. My site is full of images of where I am, where I’ve been, what I think and what I love to do.
I’m a native Chicagoan through and through and have been a street photographer and loving it for almost 12 years. Of course my drive and fascination is fueled by the events happening before me but especially by and with the gazillions of people who allow me to share their space with “our” stories of laughter, humor, history and sometimes-even tears.
Crazy it’s March 2019! Last year was chock full of opportunities for doing, sharing, growth and fun!
Some of my doing was in fundraising with “Spring for a Cure”. Funds raised for the annual “Walk MS” event helps research and various programs or assistance the society provides to the MS community.
In sharing I do so with you in an interview by talk show host Whitney Reynolds. An anonymous quote on her site adequately states: “Sometimes you’ve been assigned this mountain to show others, it can be moved.” If you haven’t had a chance to see the interview 'Moving Mountains with MS' (you can watch further down on this page) I’m the “woman with a million expressions”. I chuckle every time I watch and I’m sure you will too!
For growth I was fortunate to display my photography for a bit in the Riverwalk Concourse of the 600 W. Chicago Avenue building. Known as “The Groupon Building” the seasons there were good.
My fun was and continues to be a part of coordinating and then displaying in a new outdoor venue the Mariano Park Art Series. Mariano is the gem set in the middle of the renowned Gold Coast neighborhood bordering Rush/State Streets. It’s the small triangle of land commonly referred to as:
A little piece of Paris in our big city”.
I hope you’ll read those and other stories here in Lori’s Stories.
2019 so far has brought me to display in the honorable Maria Pappas, Cook County Treasurer’s office, February thru April at 118 N. Clark St. Room 112. The rest of my year will unfold with that and of course making pictures, being out and about, living life and so much more!
Enjoy yours and you can do that too! My best.

Do you agree we may not have or cannot take the time to immerse ourselves in or be part of "our moments"?
Undeniably, my street photography and other incredible photo opportunities bring me there. Facing MS forever and a day ago, at various times during my day I'd need to regenerate my nerves. Often enough, returning from work or whatnot I'd lie in the back seat of a cab or do some such to accommodate and forage ahead.
Fast-forward to 2007 as photography became my mobility and my passion as I tooled around on journeys (on my mobility scooter). "Scooting and shooting" let me look at, see and be part of "my all", expanding and delightfully sharing my visions along my way. My captures are of everything I see, do or become part of. People, nature, architecture or its demise, movement, stillness and any or everything else I encounter.
I've been told the curiosities my images elicit somehow stimulate the imagination and infuse an energy, humor and life force vital to us all. It's me … and it's for you.... Lori
